How it all began
Cobo was founded in 2017 by Discus Fish and Dr. Changhao Jiang, two early builders in the industry who first worked together in 2013. They shared one belief: blockchain would change how value moves, if keeping digital assets safe could be made simple enough for any team. Cobo started as a wallet. As exchanges, funds and payment companies asked to build on it, it grew into infrastructure.
Nine years and several market cycles later, Cobo has secured billions in client assets with zero security incidents since 2017, and more than 680 clients across nearly 50 countries and regions run on it today. Cobo is SOC 2 Type II (Big Four audited) accredited and ISO 27001 certified, with licensed entities in Hong Kong, Canada, and the United States.
The same infrastructure now extends to AI agents: Cobo Agentic Wallet is a non-custodial agent wallet by default. Your agent gets a Pact, not your private key, and acts on-chain within boundaries you set. The job has not changed since 2017: make trust something every participant can build on, whether that participant is a person, a company, or an agent.

Discus Fish
CEO and Co-founder
An early cryptocurrency pioneer, Mao Shixing, widely known as Discus Fish, is a highly respected thought leader within the crypto community since 2011.
Before founding Cobo, Discus Fish co-founded F2Pool, one of the world’s largest mining pools, where he played a pivotal role in advancing the mining industry and supporting blockchain infrastructure. Discus Fish also started the first Chinese Bitcoin and Litecoin forums, and co-founded Yibite, a premier Bitcoin portal.
At Cobo, he continues to shape the industry and drive blockchain innovations by simplifying digital asset security for organizations.
Dr Changhao Jiang
CTO and Co-founder
Dr. Changhao Jiang is a distinguished computer scientist, a leading expert in the cryptocurrency and blockchain sectors, and a successful serial entrepreneur.
After earning his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, he held key positions at Google and Facebook, where he made significant contributions during both companies' transformative growth years.
In 2013, he founded Bihang, China’s first Bitcoin wallet. In 2017, he co-founded Cobo alongside cryptocurrency pioneer Shixing "Discus Fish" Mao, focusing on the development of digital asset custody and wallet infrastructure.
