How it all began
In 2017, Cobo was founded by Discus Fish and Dr. Changhao Jiang - two visionary pioneers in the cryptocurrency space.
Their shared passion for advancing the crypto landscape brought them together. They both firmly believed that blockchain innovations will be a huge game-changer - if only the security threats inherent in managing digital assets could be eliminated.
As a result, Cobo was created to simplify digital asset security, empowering organizations and developers to focus on innovating and scaling their digital asset businesses.
Today, Cobo safeguards billions of digital assets, driving innovation and growth for organizations worldwide.

Discus Fish
CEO and Co-founder
An early cryptocurrency pioneer, Mao Shixing, widely known as Discus Fish, is a highly respected thought leader within the crypto community since 2011.
Before founding Cobo, Discus Fish co-founded F2Pool, one of the world’s largest mining pools, where he played a pivotal role in advancing the mining industry and supporting blockchain infrastructure. Discus Fish also started the first Chinese Bitcoin and Litecoin forums, and co-founded Yibite, a premier Bitcoin portal.
At Cobo, he continues to shape the industry and drive blockchain innovations by simplifying digital asset security for organizations.
Dr Changhao Jiang
CTO and Co-founder
Dr. Changhao Jiang is a distinguished computer scientist, cryptocurrency and blockchain expert, and serial entrepreneur. After earning his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, he served on the engineering teams at Google and Facebook during their most transformative growth years.
Recognizing early the transformative potential of decentralized systems, Dr. Jiang entered the crypto space in its formative years. In 2013, he founded Bihang, China’s first Bitcoin wallet, helping to lay the groundwork for secure digital asset adoption. Building on this foundation, he co-founded Cobo in 2017 with crypto pioneer Discus Fish, with a vision to bring institutional-grade custody and wallet infrastructure to the emerging digital asset economy.
Today, Dr. Jiang is leading the company's expansion into the era of autonomous, agentic finance. He is spearheading the development of Cobo's Agentic Wallet infrastructure, transforming wallets into programmable financial capability modules natively accessible to AI agents.
Under his leadership, Cobo is moving beyond digital asset custody to power the next era of digital finance.
